Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum Opens in Presence of Kim Jong Un
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- An opening ceremony of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum took place with splendor on Saturday.

The museum has turned into a center for education in the tradition of victory as they convey forever the feats the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung performed by winning the victory in the war and the Songun revolutionary feats of the great Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.

The area centering around the Monument to Victorious War has turned into a large open-air museum as it has an open-air exhibition including an exhibition of merited weapons.

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, arrived at the venue of the opening ceremony.

The head of the guard of honor of the KPA Ground, Navy, Air and Anti-air Forces and the Worker-Peasant Red Guards offered a salute to Marshal Kim Jong Un.

A 21-gun salute boomed.

Kim Jong Un reviewed the guard of honor and mounted the tribune of honor.

It was also taken by senior party, state and army officials including Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and Choe Ryong Hae.

Li Yuanchao, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and vice-president of China, and Yu Zhenwu, former commander of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, were also present there.

Attending at the ceremony were war veteran delegates, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, those who were received by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, heroes, service personnel of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, literature and art, public health and media, merited persons and other people in the city.

Present there on invitation were the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan and overseas Koreans' delegations and other overseas Koreans, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, foreign delegations and delegates, diplomatic envoys of various countries and members of the military attaches corps here and other foreign guests.

KPA Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, made an opening address.

He said that the museum is an eternal treasure house for glorifying long the undying exploits Kim Il Sung performed by leading the war to victory and the Songun revolutionary feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and a hall of victory conveying to the whole world the heroic fighting spirit and feats of the service personnel and people of the DPRK who became first in defeating U.S. imperialism.

It is also a centre for education in victorious tradition and an important base for anti-U.S. class education, which makes the service personnel and people of the DPRK renew their steadfast will to invariably carry forward the history of invincibility, he added.

Then followed a march past of the guard of honor of the Ground, Navy, Air and Anti-Air Force of the KPA and Worker-Peasant Red Guards.

Kim Jong Un cut off a red tape hanging in front of the sculpture "Victory".

He went round the museum together with senior party, state and army officials, the delegation of the People's Republic of China and other foreign delegations and delegates, diplomatic envoys of different countries and members of the military attaches corps here and members of the delegations of overseas compatriots.

After looking round the museum, he expressed his satisfaction over the fact that the museum has been successfully built as a treasure house of the country, a center inspiring visitors in the confrontation with the U.S. and an important base for anti-U.S education.
