DPRK's War Victory Day Observed Abroad

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Lectures, photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Serbia, Guinea, India, Nigeria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Mongolia and Slovakia during the period from July 16 to 22 to mark the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. On display in the venues of the events were photos showing the undying revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, books introducing the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great persons and photos showing successes achieved by the service personnel and people of the DPRK in building a thriving socialist nation. The international secretary of the New Yugoslavia Communist Party of Serbia said that the danger of war persists in the Korean Peninsula though many years have passed since the Armistice Agreement was concluded. He urged the U.S. to dismantle the "UN Command" and withdraw its armed forces for aggression from south Korea. The director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Sciences of Guinea lauded Kim Il Sung for defeating the Japanese and U.S. imperialists in one generation and inflicting a heavy defeat upon the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world during the 1950-1953 Fatherland Liberation War and demonstrating the sovereignty and dignity of the country before the whole world. The chief of the Kim Jong Il Library who is managing director of the Nigeria-Korea Stereo Industrial Company said that the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War is the common holiday of not only the Korean people but also the world progressives. The DPRK history of certain victory which started and triumphed with arms will be given steady continuity under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, he added. Participants in the film shows watched such Korean films as "The Country Shining with Arms of Mt. Paektu", "Arms of Korea" and "U.S. Imperialists Are Provokers of Korean War", the first part of the documentary "The Fatherland Liberation War". |
