Performances Given by CPLA Literary, Art Delegation

Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- The literary and art delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (CPLA), which took part in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, gave performances at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Sunday and Tuesday. Among the audience were Kim Kyok Sik, Kang Sok Ju, Mun Kyong Dok, Hong Son Ok, secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, servicepersons of the KPA, creators, artistes, teachers and students in the armed forces organs and fields of social art and Pyongyangites. Also watching the performances were Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of the Chinese embassy, Chinese guests staying here and Chinese students studying here. The male solo impressively represented "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il", the immortal revolutionary hymns, to touch heartstrings of the audience. Put on the stage were female solo, male solo, acrobatics and other colorful numbers reflecting the heroic struggle and optimistic picture of the army and people of China. A male solo "Song of Chinese People's Volunteers" vividly reflected feats of the soldiers of CPV who bravely fought in the Korean front against U.S. imperialism under the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland. A male soloist earnestly sang "Sing, Fork to Mangyongdae" highly praising the undying revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung who devoted himself to prosperity of the country and happiness of the people, deeply touching the audience. The performers made truthful artistic portrayal of the ideological and thematic contents of all works with rich voice, well-organized ensemble, graceful rhythm and good talents, winning warm applause from the audience. |
