Koreans in U.S. Call for Realizing Peace on Korean Peninsula

| Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- Members of an organization of Koreans in the U.S. and a U.S. organization of peace campaign against war staged a solidarity demonstration in New York on July 24 calling for the conclusion of a peace treaty on the Korean Peninsula. On July 26, other Koreans held a candlelight rally calling for the conclusion of a peace treaty. The speakers said at the rally that the armistice does not mean the end of the war but its temporary suspension, adding that a peace treaty should be concluded to free the peninsula from the danger of a war. They underscored the need to conclude a peace treaty and reunify the country at an early date to put an end to the pain the separated families and relatives are undergoing due to the division of the country. |
