Wreaths Laid before Statue, Grave of Kang Pan Sok
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were placed before the statue of Kang Pan Sok, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and outstanding leader of the women's movement in Korea, at the Chilgol Revolutionary Site in Pyongyang and her grave in Mangyongdae, the birthplace of President Kim Il Sung, on Wednesday on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of her demise.

Seen standing before the statue and grave were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Jang Jong Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and other senior officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party and power bodies, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the KPA, officials of various organs and Pyongyangites.

Wreaths were laid before the statue and grave in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and Cabinet of the DPRK.

Wreaths were also placed in the name of working people's organizations, ministries, military academies, revolutionary schools and party and power organs and farms in Pyongyang.

The participants paid silent tribute to Kang Pan Sok, looking back on the revolutionary life of her who brought up Kim Il Sung as the sun of the nation and dedicated her all to the struggle for liberating the country and ushered in a new era in the women's movement in Korea.
