She was born as a daughter of a tenant before the liberation of the country. She was subject to all sorts of maltreatment and contempt as a member of a stateless nation. She could lead a worthy life only after President Kim Il Sung liberated the country.

She worked hard to repay even a bit the care shown by the Workers' Party of Korea. She still keeps herself in good health thanks to the socialist healthcare system.

She often asks her children to do more things for the country, saying she owes her longevity to the loving care of the mother party.
