Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- There took place various events in Cambodia and India on July 21 and 23 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. A seminar on President Kim Il Sung's exploits was held by the Khmer Democratic Party in Cambodia and a seminar, book and photo exhibition and film shows were held by the Indian Society for the Study of Works of Kim Jong Il and the Indian Study Group of Songun Politics. Participants in the film shows watched a Korean film censuring the U.S. imperialists for unleashing the Korean war. Ouk Phurik, president of the Khmer Democratic Party in Cambodia, praised Kim Il Sung as an iron-willed brilliant commander who led the Fatherland Liberation War to victory. Under his wise leadership the Korean people achieved great successes in their efforts for the prosperity of the country and national reunification, he noted. S. P. Pathak, chairman of the Indian Society for the Study of Works of Kim Jong Il, said July 27 is the day the U.S., the provoker of the war, signed the Armistice Agreement which is little short of an instrument of surrender. It was thanks to Kim Il Sung that the DPRK could beat back the invasion by the U.S. and its allies and win in the war, he noted. Sadhna Harish, chairwoman of the Indian Study Group of Songun Politics, said the myth of U.S. "mightiness" was shattered in the Fatherland Liberation War by invincible and iron-willed commander Kim Il Sung. After the war the U.S. has persisted in its provocations against the DPRK, instead of drawing a due lesson from the Korean war, she said, adding: But each time it was compelled to send a letter of apology to the Korean people who were under the outstanding leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Kim Il Sung's such military exploits will go down in the world history of anti-imperialist struggle. A message of greeting to the dear respected Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event held by the Indian Society for the Study of Works of Kim Jong Il. |
