DPRK's War Victory Day Observed Abroad
Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- Meetings, round-table talks, film shows and photo exhibitions took place in Poland, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Iran from July 24 to 26 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War

On display in the venues of the events were photos of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un. Also displayed there were works of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and books and photos introducing the Korean people in the effort to build a thriving socialist nation.

Speakers including the chairman of the Polish preparatory committee for celebrating the 60th anniversary praised Kim Il Sung for leading the three-year bloody Korean War to a victory.

They said the Korean people's victory in the war became a historic occasion in breaking the myth of the U.S. imperialists' "mightiness" and opening a new chapter of the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle.

The Korean War was ignited by the U.S. for dominating the world but it suffered a disgraceful defeat for the first time in history, they said, urging it to withdraw its troops from south Korea and conclude a peace treaty with the DPRK.

The senior special advisor to the governor of the Niger State Government of Nigeria said that the Korean people won the victory in the war against the U.S.-led allied forces. This could be achieved only by the people, strong in faith, who regard the dignity and sovereignty of the country and justice as their life and soul, he said.

He extended high respects to Kim Il Sung, who won a great victory in the war.

The director of the Construction Department of the Ethiopian Institute of Water Project Design and Supervision and other speakers said that Kim Il Sung achieved a shining victory in the Korean War, greatly encouraging many people around the world in their national liberation struggle.
