Memorial Service Held to Commemorate 10th Anniversary of Jong Mon Hon's Death

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- A memorial service to commemorate the 10th anniversary of death of Jong Mong Hon, former chairman of Hyundai Group of south Korea, took place at Mt. Kumgang resort on Saturday. Present from the south side were Chairwoman of the group Hyon Jong Un, his widow, and those concerned of the group. Present from the north side were Won Tong Yon, vice-chairman of the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, Hwang Ho Yong, director of the DPRK Guidance Bureau of Special Zone for International Tour of Mt. Kumgang, and other officials concerned. The participants laid bunches of flowers before the monument to the autograph of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il at the resort and paid tribute to him. Wreaths in the name of the group and the committee and bunches of flowers were laid at the service. The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Jong Mong Hon. Hwang Ho Yong said in a memorial address that Jong Mong Hon together with Honorary Chairman Jong Ju Yong explored the road of reconciliation and cooperation with warm patriotism and devotedly worked for developing the inter-Korean relations and achieving the country's reunification. He recalled that Kim Jong Il set store by Jong Mong Hon's patriotism and showed deep love and trust for him. He noted that supreme leader Kim Jong Un is paying deep attention to the family and the group and showed warm loving care on the 10th anniversary of Jong Mon Hon's death, true to the noble will of Kim Jong Il. Those concerned of the group evinced their resolution to make every effort to realize the great intention of national reconciliation and cooperation so much desired by Jong Ju Yong and Jong Mong Hon and resume the tour of Mt. Kumgang as early as possible. |
