DPRK's Day of Victory in War Observed by Foreign Newspapers
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers carried special write-ups between July 17 and 29 to mark the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The Uruguayan newspaper La Juventud devoted one whole page to articles titled "In three days", "The sinking of 'moving island'" and "The end of 'undefeated division'" under the headline "July 27, the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the great Fatherland Liberation War" illustrated with a photo of President Kim Il Sung.

The paper said that July 27 is the day of victory when the Korean people bested the U.S. which boasted of being the "strongest" in the world.

It gave a detailed account of the original military idea and war methods of the President, adding that the U.S. myth of "mightiness" was shattered to smithereens in the Korean war.

The paper said the world-startling myth of the DPRK's invincibility was created in the last Korean war, referring to the operation for the liberation of Taejon where the U.S. imperialists' "undefeated division" was wiped out in a few hours and the confession made by the then Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Bradley that the U.S. fought a wrong Korean war with a wrong rival and in the wrong place and in the wrong time.

The Nigerian newspaper Daily Sun carried a portrait of smiling Kim Il Sung and cited, under the title "History's appreciation," concrete facts to prove that many figures in the world expressed reverence for Kim Il Sung, irrespective of ideology and social system, political view and religion.

L' Avenir, the paper of Democratic Congo, in an article dealt with the exploits Kim Il Sung performed in winning the war.
