|
|
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Floriculture Institute has succeeded in breeding a species of transgenic plant, making it possible to cultivate Chrysanthemum in all seasons. Highly resistant to drought and low temperature, its blossoms are bigger and more beautiful than other species of Chrysanthemum. In particular, its blooming and rooting rates are higher than others. With no pollen, this plant is not harmful to human body and environment. The new species, registered as transgenic organism No. 1 in the country, gives a glimpse of the nation's developing bioengineering, paving a way for further developing the gene transfer technology. |
