Kim Jong Un Visits Pyongyang Indoor Stadium
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, went round the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium now in the process of renovation.

He acquainted himself in detail with its renovation, looking round it.

He was greatly satisfied to hear that the builders have carried out all work 90 percent in a matter of less than five months since they started the project.

He underscored the need to build the stage better as it is used as a platform when holding conferences and other events and as spectators' seats during sports games.

Seeing the hall and spectators' seats of the stadium, he said what is important for renovating it is to provide the best convenience to people and school youth and children visiting it to watch matches.

A large electronic display should be installed not only on the side of the stadium but in the middle part of the ceiling of the stadium to be visible from all sides so that the spectators may closely watch the scores and games, he said, calling for developing Korean way a program for operating the electronic displays to be controlled by computers.

There should be different illuminations when sports games and events are held, he said, underlining the need to establish a dual illumination system in the stadium.

The Pyongyang Indoor Stadium is a building with a long history, he said, stressing the need to set a high standard and renovate it at the highest level.

He expressed expectation and conviction that the builders and officials of the relevant field engaged in the renovation work would successfully carry out their honorable tasks till the 65th anniversary of the DPRK.

He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Hwang Pyong So and Ma Won Chun.
