Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of various countries featured articles illustrated with portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and his photos to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. They each devoted a full page to those articles. The Bulgarian paper Zarava in its July 15-August 15 issue carried an article titled "Kim Il Sung, an invincible commander and outstanding strategist". The article said the Korean people's victory in the war would have been unthinkable without the august name of the President. It went on: When the U.S. ignited the Korean war, many people in the world expressed concern over the destiny of the DPRK, which was less than two years old. But the outcome of the war was quite different from what they expected. The U.S. myth of invincibility was shattered to smithereens. Its military and technological strength was by no means absolute. The Kuwait Times carried an article titled "Independence and President Kim Il Sung" on July 27. It said that the President recorded a heroic epic in the history of defending sovereignty by defeating U.S. imperialism, which boasted of being the "strongest" in the world. The Indian papers Krishna Aberta and Defence and Humanity on July 26 and 27 carried articles titled "Generalissimo Kim Il Sung", "Peerless strategist", "A world-startling event 60 years ago" and "The battle for liberating Taejon" under the headline "On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Korean war". |
