According to the report, the museum was built at the highest level on the bank of the Pothong River in Pyongyang and opened on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the war victory thanks to the far-sighted idea and leadership of the WPK to glorify the feats the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung performed by winning the victory in the war and the Songun revolutionary feats of the great Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.

The museum and the area around it turned into the best centre for comprehensive education and a great open-air museum in a matter of just 10 months. This is the proud fruition of the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un and patriotic devotion of the service personnel and people of the DPRK who warmly responded to the party's call.

Marshal Kim Jong Un energetically led the construction of the museum into a great palace telling about the exploits Kim Il Sung performed for the war victory and the Songun revolutionary exploits of Kim Jong Il and the heroic fighting spirit and feats of the army and people of the DPRK.

He issued an order to the Korean People's Army to construct the museum in a new and bold manner and spruce up well the area around it before the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

He gave field guidance to the construction site 18 times and gave instructions more than a hundred times in a little over one year.

This year he visited the construction site 14 times, 7 times in July alone.

He saw to it that the exhibition hall showing the Songun revolutionary exploits of Kim Jong Il, who led the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle to one victory after another was newly built in the museum.

Thanks to Kim Jong Un's brilliant wisdom and guidance the museum has become an eternal museum of the leader to convey the exploits the great Generalissimos performed in the history of anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle down through generations.

It came to serve as a main center for education in the tradition of war victory showing how could the preceding generations win the victory in the war against the U.S. and its allied forces under the leadership of Kim Il Sung and the WPK, a center of education in the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle and a world class museum.

The sculpture "Victory" on which the autograph of Kim Jong Un "Respects to the Great Age" is inscribed is standing in front of the magnificent museum covering a vast area. This is fully demonstrating before the world the heroic fighting spirit and work style of Songun Korea, which works a miracle at one go in hearty response to the call of the party.
