Meeting in Russia Observes Anniversary of Korea's Liberation
Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place in Moscow under the sponsorship of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK on August 13 to mark the 68th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

On display in the venue were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and books introducing the undying exploits of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu.

Speeches were made by Victor Petrov, chairman of the association, S. M. Kramarenko, chairperson of the Korean War Veterans' Council of Russia, and others.

The speakers said the day of Korea's liberation is of great significance in the Korean history.

Kim Il Sung waged a protracted armed struggle, beating back the Japanese imperialists and liberating the country, they noted, adding the Korean people could achieve a brilliant victory thanks to him.

The DPRK established the most progressive socio-political system under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il after the liberation and is now demonstrating its dignity as a military power which no aggressor dares provoke, they stressed.

They expressed belief that the historic tradition of friendship between the two peoples would steadily grow stronger.

They hoped that the Korean people would register bigger successes in their efforts to achieve the reunification of the country and accomplish the cause of socialism under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, successor to the cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

A message of greeting to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
