Solidarity Committee for Korea's Peaceful Reunification Formed in Austria
Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- An Austrian solidarity committee of unionists for Korea's peaceful reunification was formed with due ceremony in Vienna on August 9.

Oliver Jonischkeit, federal secretary of the Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation, was elected chairman of the solidarity committee.

At the inaugural ceremony the following resolution was adopted:

We warmly congratulate the Korean people on the 68th anniversary of the liberation of their country.

It is the demand of the times for Japan to recognize its grave crimes committed in the period when it occupied Korea.

The southern part of Korea is still occupied by the U.S. forces.

We demand the U.S. conclude a peace treaty with the DPRK and withdraw its forces from south Korea.

We urge the south Korean "government" to come out to implement the north-south joint declaration, not becoming a stooge for carrying out the domination strategy of the U.S. imperialists, and make a substantial contribution to achieving the peaceful reunification of Korea.
