Charcha on August 5 carried an article titled "Testimonies to history" which said:

It was General Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea and eternal President of the DPRK, who terminated the military occupation by the Japanese imperialists and liberated Korea.

Under the subtitles "Kim Il Sung's guerrilla", "Kim Il Sung, commander for Korea's independence", "Long live General Kim Il Sung" and "Battle in Pochonbo" the paper carried testimonies made by foreigners about the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
