On Aug. 15, 1945 the Korean nation was freed from the fate of the colonial slaves of the Japanese imperialists.

President Kim Il Sung, who embarked upon the road of the revolutionary struggle to regain the usurped country in his teens, laid down the line on liberating the country through the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

This made it possible for the Korean people to advance with confidence along the right road in their struggle for liberating the nation for the first time in history.

The President staged the final operation against the Japanese imperialists and achieved the liberation of the country at last.

His exploits of achieving the liberation of Korea with his Songun leadership will shine long in the history of the world struggle for national liberation against imperialism.

The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea in its article titled "A noteworthy event in the history of the Korean nation" said as follows:

After the liberation of Korea a wide avenue for building new society opened up before the Korean nation.

The President enforced all the democratic reforms and founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the first people's democratic state in the East.

The DPRK was consolidated and developed into the socialist state centered on the popular masses under the leadership of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, fully demonstrating its tremendous viability and eternal vitality.

The liberation of Korea that gave birth to everlasting and prosperous socialist Korea will shine long as an event to be specially recorded in the history of the Korean nation.
