Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- The Prensa Latina News Agency of Cuba introduced the DPRK on August 9. It gave accounts of the colorful events held in Pyongyang, noting that the DPRK significantly celebrated the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. It went on: Korea was under the military occupation of Japan in the first half of the last century. Japan reduced a lot of Koreans into guinea pigs for biological weapons and forced more than 200,000 women into sexual slavery. Korea was liberated in 1945 but it was divided into the north and the south by outside forces. The Korean War ignited by the U.S. in June of 1950 lasted three years. By the death-defying struggle of the Korean people the U.S. suffered big defeat and was forced to sign the Armistice Agreement in 1953. The U.S. and its allied forces became undisguised in their moves to stifle the DPRK at the end of the last century. Nevertheless, the DPRK is now dynamically advancing. The DPRK government showed the world how it has implemented its space program for peaceful purposes. |
