Men's football, table-tennis, defence sports and athletic events will be held during the contest which will run through August 28.

The contest offers an important occasion for workers to popularize sports, make it part of their daily life and powerfully demonstrate their high spirit and revolutionary optimism in the building of an economic power and a highly civilized socialist nation.

There were men's football matches between the teams of the Capital City Construction Committee and the Ministry of Railways and between teams of North Phyongan Province and South Hwanghae Province as well as group table-tennis matches between teams of South Phyongan Province and Jagang Province and between teams of Kangwon Province and Ryanggang Province on the same day.
