Supreme leader Kim Jong Un, in a talk "Let Us Add Eternal Brilliance to Comrade Kim Jong Il's Great Idea and Achievements of the Songun Revolution" recently given to the Workers' Party of Korea's organ Rodong Sinmun and the Korean People's Army's organ Joson Inmingun, clarified that Songun is a proud tradition of the Korean revolution and the banner of victory and glory.

In the last century, the DPRK had been exposed to constant threats of war posed by the imperialists on its way of advancing socialist construction.

But, thanks to Kim Jong Il's Songun politics, a grand plan for building a thriving nation was unfolded in the days of the Arduous March, the forced march, when the country was undergoing grim trials, and a hot wind of working fresh miracles and innovations swept across the country.

Fierce flames of the industrial revolution in the new century flared up, ushering in the era of the knowledge-based economy and monumental edifices symbolic of the era appeared in different parts of the country and art works representative of the Songun culture were created in large numbers.

His Songun politics provided the June 15 era of reunification based on the idea of "By our nation itself" as well as a precious asset for the reunification of the country and the common prosperity of the Korean nation. It also safeguarded peace in Asia and the rest of the world from the imperialists' uninterrupted war moves.

All the achievements made by the DPRK are attributable to Kim Jong Il's Songun revolutionary idea and his tireless efforts to that effect.

The DPRK people will in the future, too, as in the past, invariably maintain the banner of Songun, thereby building a strong economy, achieving national reunification and defending the world's peace and security.
