Bonakele Majuba, secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party and the chairman of South African Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Korean People, was elected the chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events including a meeting, lecture, film show and photo exhibition on the occasion of the anniversary.
