DPRK Student Takes First Place at Int'l Vocal Concours

Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- Choe Chol Jun who studied at the Art School of the Korean People's Army, took the first place at the International Vocal Concours Named after Mikhailov held in Kaluga City, Kaluga Region of Russia from Aug. 20 to 25. The concours brought together at least 120 excellent singers from 10 countries including the DPRK, Russia, China, Austria and Germany. It was held irrespective of sex. It decided final standing through three-stage selections. Choe now studying at Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Russia is a talented bass who took the first place in Belavoche International Students' Vocal Concours held in Moscow in April Juche 100 (2011). He sang songs that require high artistic skills with the voice of rich volume and unique and beautiful tone quality to win admiration of the jury and audience. He received the top prize at the prize-awarding ceremony. The members of the jury including chairman and audience said that Choe Chol Jun of the DPRK is a perfect singer whose skill can match with world-level singers. It is hardly imaginable to sing like him, they admired. |
