Choe now studying at Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Russia is a talented bass who took the first place in Belavoche International Students' Vocal Concours held in Moscow in April Juche 100 (2011).

He sang songs that require high artistic skills with the voice of rich volume and unique and beautiful tone quality to win admiration of the jury and audience.

He received the top prize at the prize-awarding ceremony.

The members of the jury including chairman and audience said that Choe Chol Jun of the DPRK is a perfect singer whose skill can match with world-level singers. It is hardly imaginable to sing like him, they admired.
