Law on Renewable Energy Enacted in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has recently enacted a law on renewable energy.

The law breaks into six chapters and 46 articles.

It covers basic principles to be maintained in development and use of renewable energy and legal requirements to that effect.

The law aims to steadily develop the nation's economy and protect environment by encouraging the development and use of renewable energy.

It deals with the issues arising in upgrading the material and technical foundations in the energy field and carrying on exchanges and cooperation with other countries in the field.

It also underscores the need to increase the state's investment in the field.

The law suggests that the state work out plans on survey of resources of renewable energy in conformity with the country's demand for energy, environmental situation and development of energy technologies.
