More than 20 000 people from all walks of life including members of civic and public organizations and figures of opposition parties were involved there.

The speakers said that the truth behind the case of the IS's interference in the election has not been probed and those responsible have not been punished.

If the IS had not interfered in the election, the results would have turned out otherwise, they noted.

They demanded the chief executive hold responsibility for the case and punish the prime movers.

The IS's fabrication of a case about plotting rebellion to put the situation under control is a replica of dictatorial crackdown practiced by the Park Chung-Hee regime to violate democracy and maintain "yusin", they noted.

They called for carrying on the struggle for democracy to the last, adding that if they keep silent about the fabrication of the case, the crackdown will target the candlelight actions.
