The highly civilized socialist country being built by the DPRK is the country where all the people enjoy a cultural life under socialism under the most civilized conditions and circumstances, being possessed of high cultural knowledge, strong body and attractive moral traits, and whose society is full of beautiful and sound life-style.

It is the country in which the idea and desire of the people have come true and Juche character and national character are embodied and intrinsic demands of socialist society are fully met.

The most advantageous socialist system and rich experience and foundation provided in the protracted historical struggle serve as the powerful driving force for building the highly civilized socialist country.

In Korean-style socialism which is centered on the popular masses the people have become the master of everything and everything of society serves them. In the DPRK all the activities of the party and the state are oriented to improving the people's living standard. The systems of universal free compulsory education and free medical care are enforced in the DPRK and literature and arts, sports and all other cultural fields serve the people to make them developed ones in all aspects being possessed of the consciousness of independence, high cultural knowledge, strong physical body and noble moral traits.

Through the long historical struggle to build a thriving nation the people of the DPRK have cultivated the spirit of valuing things their own and believing in their own strength and have gained rich experience of innovation and upsurge for strongly aspiring after things new. In this course, the number of schools, hospitals, theatres and other cultural wealth significantly increased and strong material and technical foundations have been laid to achieve high civilization.

The DPRK's cause of building a thriving nation is being actively pushed ahead as there are the people with strong revolutionary spirit, creativity, outstanding wisdom, talents and immense potentials.
