Referring to the fact that the project carried out by Lee Myung Bak turned out to be a charade, speakers at the meeting held that he should own legal, political and moral responsibility.

They warned that the second, third and fourth projects of the four big rivers will repeat themselves unless an end is put to the vicious cycle of such practices as not owning any accountability for destroying environment through misrule.

They also called for punishing those forces who pressed ahead with the project, which resulted in the waste of money collected from the people as taxes and ecological destruction, etc. and conducting a thorough-going investigation into the project.

Underscoring the need to conduct an all-people movement, they held that a group of people to indict those responsible for the project should be formed to make those concerned with the project own legal responsibility, probe the illegal spending of funds and institute a special law for the improvement of those damaged rivers.
