Rodong Sinmun Friday observes in a commentary in this regard:

The ulterior aim sought by the Japanese reactionaries in frantically stepping up the arms buildup by spending a stupendous amount of funds is to arm the "Self-Defense Forces" with latest military hardware and hurl them into overseas aggression to realize their old dream to restore their empire at any cost.

The SDF is now being bolstered up to be aggression forces capable of mounting preemptive attacks. Accordingly, this alarming military spending is totally aimed at modernizing it and increasing its maneuverability and capability for conducting long-distance operations.

The Japanese reactionaries are pressing ahead with all these moves under the pretext of "coping with someone's threat". By "threatening force" the Japanese authorities mean the DPRK.

It is habitual practices of Japan to do evil things by finding fault with others.

No matter how hard Japan may try to cover up its despicable true colors, it cannot escape strong criticism of the international community.

Tokyo's policy of arms expansion is the root cause of threatening peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of Northeast Asia.

It should stop working hard to emerge a military giant and launch overseas expansion. This is the only way out for it.

Japan is the country which suffered a bitter defeat for frantically pursuing aggression and wars against other countries. It would be well advised not to forget the history of its disgraceful defeat.
