Kim Jong Un Sends Congratulations to Officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan
Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- Supreme leader Kim Jong Un Saturday sent a congratulatory message to all the officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Koreans in Japan on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.

The message noted that the 65-year-long proud history of the DPRK is recorded with the patriotic devotion made by the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan who have always shared their destiny with the socialist homeland, holding great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in high esteem.

Chongryon, though working in an alien land, has made a valuable contribution to the proud cause of bringing about the prosperity of the country and achieving the independent reunification, regarding the homeland as a cradle of its genuine life and a beacon of hope, it said, adding:

Today the DPRK is demonstrating its might as a prosperous socialist country. It is ascribable to the precious patriotic devotion and unrewarded efforts made by the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan who have ardently loved their homeland and devoted themselves to it with their fervor and enthusiasm.

The Juche-based homeland takes care of the destiny and future of the Korean nation in a responsible manner like a mother, and Chongryon and Koreans in Japan are members of the great family of the socialist homeland.

The message underscored the need for the officials of Chongryon and other Koreans in Japan to fully embody Kim Jong Il's patriotism in their practical patriotic work and make a tangible contribution to building a thriving nation and accomplishing the cause of national reunification.

It expressed belief that Chongryon would creditably perform its mission and role as an overseas compatriots organization of Juche Korea and thus further exalt the honor of being an example of the overseas Koreans movement in the world.
