South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwan Jin at the recent enlarged second meeting of defense ministers of ASEAN raised a hue and cry over the "nuclear and missile threat of the north" and claimed that this poses "a serious threat" to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

Even he cried out for "leading the north to changes with strong deterrence."

Rodong Sinmun says what Kim Kwan Jin uttered is quite contrary to the trend of the present situation on the Korean Peninsula as they were full of distrust and hostility towards the north, dialogue partner and part of the same nation.

The south Korean military chief again trumpeted about "threat from the north" at a time when a way is being paved for dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south with much effort. This is a wicked act of chilling the atmosphere of detente.

Kim Kwan Jin earned an ill fame as a rare warmonger for groundlessly finding fault with the DPRK and repeatedly crying out for "strong counteraction and punishment" when he was defense minister under the Lee Myung Bak regime.

It should not go unnoticed that this dangerous warmonger utterly indifferent to dialogue and peace again got hysteric at a time when there is a sign of mending the north-south relations.

The anachronistic acts of the south Korean military forces to escalate the confrontation are stumbling blocks in the way of dialogue and peace.

Minju Joson says that the process to repair the north-south relations is moving at a snail's pace despite the sincere efforts on the part of the north because such confrontation maniacs as Kim Kwan Jin are working hard to

stem the trend of the times in south Korea.
