Meeting of Foreign Crewmen Marks Birthday of DPRK
Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- A meeting of foreign crewmen took place at Chongjin Port in North Hamgyong Province on Sunday to mark the 65th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.

They laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung in Chongjin City and paid tribute to him.

Present at the meeting were the captain and crewmen of the Sierra Leon-flagged ship Chun Yang-8.

Speakers said at the meeting that after Kim Il Sung founded the DPRK, it proudly emerged an independent and sovereign state on the world arena and the Korean people were provided with a strong guarantee for power to achieve eternal prosperity.

Leader Kim Jong Il pursued the original Songun politics, firmly protecting socialist Korea and providing a solid foundation for building a thriving nation, they noted, adding:

The plan of building a thriving nation laid down by Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea and Kim Jong Il, peerlessly brilliant commander of Songun, will be successfully accomplished under the wise guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
