Sol Kyong, DPRK's World Judo Champion
Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- Sol Kyong, a judoist of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, won a gold medal at the women's 78kg category of the 2013 World Judo Championships held in Rio de Janeiro from August 26 to September 1.

She is now active at the sports team of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering.

She made her debut in the 16th Asian Games held in China in Juche 99 (2010), when she finished second in her category.

In the 2011 World Judo Championships, she came under the spotlight of the spectators for her high techniques in an open-weight category.

She won a gold medal in the 70kg category at the 2012 Women's Judo World Cup held in Poland.

Sol Kyong began learning judo in her teens and has become a national champion in the heavyweight division.
