Birthday of DPRK Observed Abroad
Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- Meetings took place in Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Poland on September 5 and 6 on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the DPRK.

Present there were figures of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway, the Ostfold Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Communist Party in Sweden, the Communist Party of Sweden, the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, the Iceland-DPRK Friendship and Cultural Society and the Poland-Korea Association and masses.

Dag Norum, chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway, said that President Kim Il Sung was the founder of the DPRK.

He referred to the fact that the President set forth a nation-building line suited to the actual conditions of Korea, wisely led the struggle for successfully carrying out the democratic reforms and provided a firm foundation for founding the DPRK.

He stressed that the President founded the DPRK on September 9, 1948 on the basis of it.

Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, noted that the founding of the DPRK realized the desire of the Korean people to become the masters of a sovereign state, opened a bright prospect for carving out their destiny and future and greatly encouraged the peoples of the whole world in their struggle against colonialism and imperialism and for national independence.

Jon Arni Halldorsson, general secretary of the Iceland-DPRK Friendship and Cultural Society, said that the DPRK brought about centuries-old changes under the outstanding and seasoned guidance of Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Congratulatory messages to supreme leader Kim Jong Un were adopted at the meetings held in Norway and Sweden.
