Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- A domestic fuel show took place at the Three-Revolution Exhibition House here on September 4-6. At least 530 exhibits were put on display at the show, cosponsored for the first time by the State Science and Technology Commission and the Ministry of Commerce. Pyongyang City stood first in the show to be followed by South and North Phyongan provinces and Nampho City. Pak Kwang Chol, a department director of the State Science and Technology Commission, told KCNA: The Phyongsong City Fuel Station streamlined the production of coal briquettes to supply them to its citizens on a normal basis. Nampho City succeeded in turning culm piled in the Kangso Coal Mine into fuel with combustion additives. What caught visitors' eyes were coal briquette inflammable with a sheet of paper, heat radiator and stoves fuelled with rice chaff or sawdust and a small amount of coal. Kim Hak Chan, a department director of the Ministry of Commerce, said that settling the fuel problem is instrumental to turning the country into a thick woodland and greenery. Visitors to the show unanimously expressed high appreciation of all the exhibits which were highly inventive. The show served as a significant occasion in helping solve the fuel problem in the country. |
