Present at the closing ceremony were weightlifters, referees, sports fans, Pyongyang citizens and youth and students.

A ceremony of awarding prizes to teams took place.

Yodbangtoey Intarat, vice-chairman of the International Weightlifting Federation and first vice-chairman of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, in a congratulatory speech said this championship was successfully held thanks to the sincere help of the DPRK government to make a great contribution to the development of cooperation among countries.

Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee who doubles as chairman of the organizing committee for the Championship, noted in his closing address the championship proved to be a successful one thanks to the deep care of the DPRK government and help of the International Weightlifting Federation and the Asian Weightlifting Federation.

He said all Asian countries should promote the sports exchange for the development of weightlifting and share experience with each other to improve technique.

Then followed a congratulatory art performance.

The organizing committee for the championship hosted a reception for the participants at Yanggakdo International Hotel on the same day.
