Korea's Historical Relics Introduced by Chinese Paper
Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- The Chinese paper Huan Qiu Shibao on September 11 introduced historical relics in Kaesong City under the title of "Historical monuments in Kaesong boast 500 year- long prosperity."

The paper said that a lot of historical sites and relics are preserved as they are in Kaesong which has a long history as a capital of Koryo dynasty (918-1392), the first unified state of the Korean nation, which existed for nearly 500 years.

It dealt with the fact that the twelve historical sites in Kaesong City of the DPRK were registered as world cultural heritage sites at the 37th meeting of the World Heritage Committee of the UNESCO held in June this year.

Introducing in detail the registered historical sites including the Mausoleum of King Wang Gon (first reign), the Mausoleum of King Kongmin (thirty first reign), Koryo Songgyungwan University and Manwoldae, it said that they are frequented by tourists of different countries as they bear witness to the national culture and its advantages in the period of Koryo dynasty.
