Wreaths Laid before Martyrs Cemeteries, Graves

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were placed before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on Sept. 19 (Harvest Moon Day). Seen standing on wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior party, state and army officials, vice-premiers of the Cabinet, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power bodies, working people's bodies, ministries and national institutions and men and officers of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and citizens. Wreaths were laid on the wreath-laying stands of the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK and on the wreath-laying stand "Soul of Heroes" of the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the DPRK National Defence Commission . Wreaths also were placed in the name of armed forces organs, social bodies, ministries, national institutions, units of the Korean People's Army and education, public health and media institutions as well as party and power bodies and industrial establishments and farms here. The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of those martyrs who remained intensely loyal to the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and glorified their noble life in the struggle to liberate the country, achieve its prosperity and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche. Wreaths were laid before statues of martyrs, cemeteries of martyrs, memorial towers of fallen fighters of the Korean People's Army and their graves in Hyesan, Wonsan, Chongjin, Haeju and other places on the occasion. Wreaths and bunches of flowers were also placed in the name of provincial party and power organs and working people's bodies, industrial establishments, farms and schools. |
