Rodong Sinmun Urges Japan to Opt for Settling Its Past
Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- The future of Japan depends on opting to settle its past as soon as possible instead of seeking to become a military giant.

Rodong Sinmun Thursday says this in an article.

Citing facts to prove the hair-raising atrocities committed by the Japanese imperialists against the Korean people in the past, it goes on:

If one committed a crime, one should make an apology and reparation for it. The same is the case with the relations between the states.

It is the unavoidable state responsibility and the political and moral obligation for a war criminal state to make an apology and reparation to the victim either in view of international law or in ethical and moral points of view.

It is already 68 years since the defeat of the Japanese imperialists but Japan is rapidly veering to the Right and desperately pursuing militarism, still denying its crime-woven history.

Its ulterior intention is to repeat its past history of aggression and crimes by stepping up the moves to become a military power.

Japan remains unchanged in its nature. It has emerged as a dangerous force threatening the global peace.

The world is following Japan's behaviors with heightened vigilance.
