Russian Papers Mark DPRK's Birthday
Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- Russian papers carried portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos documenting their exploits and those of Marshal Kim Jong Un and photo-accompanied articles dealing with the true picture of the DPRK from Sept. 2 to 10 on the occasion of the 65th birthday of the DPRK.

The paper Pri Armurskiye Wedomostsi in an article titled "DPRK today" gave a detailed account of the fact that the Korean people with a 5000-year-long history and an excellent cultural tradition are greeting the greatest heyday in their development under the banner of the DPRK.

The paper Nizhegorodskaya Pravda introduced the principle of independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in defence adhered to by the DPRK in an article titled "DPRK, independent country" having subtitles "In conformity with its requirements," "It is necessary to maintain one's own stance", "Industrialization in a matter of 14 years", "Technologies display their great power", etc.

The paper in an article subtitled "Invariable Songun politics" said:

The banner of Songun held high by Kim Jong Il helped bolster up the defense capability of the country.

It is supreme leader Kim Jong Un who is now leading the DPRK, which has demonstrated its dignity as an independent power for 65 years.

He declared in a speech made in April last year that the country would as ever keep to the road of independence, Songun and socialism.

Pravda Primoriya also carried a similar article.

Komsomolskaya Pravda carried an article titled "Independent power" having subtitles "Great history of great power", "Country maintaining its independent line", "Powerful army" and "Bright future." It praised the 65-year-long history of the DPRK.
