Symposium on "Ode to the Motherland" Held
Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- A Juche-based literature and art symposium on new song "Ode to the Motherland" took place at the Pyongyang Grand Theater Friday.

Present there were Minister of Culture Pak Chun Nam, Chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea An Tong Chun, and officials, creators and artistes in the field of culture and arts and teachers of art education institutions.

The participants listened to the recorded song that recently saw the light as a famous song of the era.

Speakers said the song reflects the feelings of love for the homeland, deepens the pride and happiness of people living in the country and hardens the will of the army and people to defend and eternally glorify the precious motherland. They called the song a treasure of Juche music and the best song to be conveyed down through generations.

They described the "Ode to the Motherland" as a song which can be listed as a treasure of the great country led by the peerlessly great persons and as the second national anthem arousing patriotism of the army and people.

The song vividly represents the Koreans' feelings toward the motherland and the immense pride of the sun's nation, they said, stressing that the song is a paean of Songun Korea that will shine long together with the national anthem, and a model work of Juche-oriented music and arts, they noted, adding:

The song instills the truth of Kim Jong Il's patriotism into the minds of the army and people. Herein lies the great ideological value and artistry and tremendous vitality of the song.

The speakers called on all the creators and artistes to embody Marshal Kim Jong Un's idea on aesthetic idea and effect fresh innovation in the creation of music.
