Foreign Party Delegations, Delegates Support Just Cause of Korean People

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- A joint statement was issued in support of the just cause of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the people of the DPRK on Sept. 8 at a meeting of foreign party delegations and delegates, members of the leadership of the Communist Party of Portugal and the delegation of officials of the WPK who participated in the 37th festival of Avante, the organ of the Communist Party of Portugal.

The statement extended support to the WPK and the people of the DPRK in their efforts for the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula.

It said thanks to the unshakable stand and sincere efforts of the WPK and the Korean people to achieve peace and stability of the peninsula and realize national reconciliation and unity, the inter-Korean ties that had faced the extreme confrontation and the danger of war have reached the phase of dialogue and negotiations.

It noted that an agreement on restarting operations at Kaesong Industrial Zone was adopted between the north and the south of Korea, and the work to realize the reunion of separated families and relatives is making progress, an event encouraging the progressives of the world.

It expressed full support for the Korean people in their efforts to achieve the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and reunify the country, condemning the U.S. policy of stifling the DPRK.

Being convinced that the peace-loving stand and efforts of the WPK and the Korean people will greatly contribute to the peace in the world, it expressed full solidarity with them.
