Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- In order to improve the inter-Korean relations it is important to achieve national unity, while giving priority and attaching importance to the nation, says Rodong Sinmun in an article Saturday. The stand of giving priority and attaching importance to the nation and achieving national unity is the standpoint and attitude to settle the issue of the nation by the efforts of its own driving force, while valuing its independent demand and interest before anything else, the article notes, and goes on: To firmly maintain and apply such stand is a key to easing the confrontation between the north and the south and achieving reunification and prosperity. The only way out for the nation is to push forward the cause of national reunification, while getting reconciled and united with the fellow countrymen, not antagonizing them and inciting confrontation with them. It is necessary to maintain the stand that the Korean nation is the best and there is nothing impossible when it pools its efforts. Herein lies the way of repelling the obstructions of foreign forces and opening up a bright avenue for national reunification and prosperity. The June 15 era of reunification when the Korean nation brought about signal successes in the movement for national reunification, ending the history of inter-Korean confrontation, proves the truth that independent reunification, peace and prosperity can be achieved if the Korean nation achieves reconciliation and unity while mending the inter-Korean relations by itself. There is no doubt that when the north and the south pool their minds and intentions out of the stand of giving priority and attaching importance to the nation and achieving national unity, the inter-Korean relations will fundamentally improve and the basic issue for national reunification and prosperity will be settled. |
