Rodong Sinmun Blasts Japan's Bid for Permanent Seat at UNSC
Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- New Japanese Ambassador to the United Nations Motohide Yoshikawa in a recent press conference said that the reform of the UN Security Council is "his lifelong duty" and Japan should "display its leadership ability" in the reform of the UNSC in a renewed bid to achieve its goal to permanently sit on the UN Security Council.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says in a commentary in this regard:

This is a cock-and-bull-story of those who do not know where they stand.

Japan is not qualified to eye a permanent membership of the UNSC.

No country can match Japan in servile diplomacy.

Whenever a crucial event takes place in the international arena, Japan has never maintained its independent viewpoint. Japan is the worst country acting under pulls and pressures of the U.S.

Japan committed hideous crimes against humanity in the past and has persistently denied and distorted its past wrongdoings.

Japan has harbored the dream of overseas aggression, not for peace.

It is rushing headlong into the moves for turning itself into a military power and launching overseas aggression, frantically instilling militarism into the minds of the people, stepping up arms buildup, expanding the overseas military operations of the "Self-Defense Forces" and working hard to revise "the Pacifist Constitution."

It is clear that Japan will launch its overseas aggression with increased frenzy if it sits on the UNSC.

Japan would be well advised to break with its crime-woven past and win international confidence before making a bid for such seat.
