The statement accused the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency of going mad with suppression of the "Wind of Youngsters Meeting for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration."

It said that the regime is trying to label the organization "an enemy-benefiting organization", claiming that its actions for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces, the repeal of the "Security Law" and the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are identical to assertions of the north.

It also slammed the regime for distributing false information among media, deliberately linking the organization with the Unified Progressive Party.

How many progressive organizations would not fall victim to the whirlwind of suppression kicked up by the security authorities to cook up "enemy-benefiting organizations," it queried, and went on:

The period of the "yusin" rule was the dark one when progressive forces were arrested one day and pro-reform forces were walked off the other day and it was followed by the arrest of religious forces.

All facts go to prove that the fascist dictatorship has been totally revived by the present regime.

It demanded the authorities stop the said campaign and halt at once the fascist hysteria.

The authorities will not be able to tide over the ruling crisis with the wind of "yusin" going against democracy, it said, adding: People's candlelight rallies demanding the disbandment of the Intelligence Service and the resignation of the present regime will put a definite end to the undemocratic regime.
