Before and after the Day of Songun foreign media widely introduced the undying exploits of Kim Jong Il's Songun leadership.

The Bangladeshi paper The Daily Folk, TVONE broadcasting service of Indonesia, the Russian internet magazine Mar 12, the Nigerian paper Nigerian Observer, internal and international broadcasting services of Guinea, the internet website of the Brazilian Committee for Solidarity with the DPRK and other media reported that Kim Jong Il inspected the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on August 25, 1960, a reflection of his will to lead the revolution and construction by relying on the KPA.

The international community received supreme leader Kim Jong Un's talk "Let Us Add Eternal Brilliance to Comrade Kim Jong Il's Great Idea and Achievements of the Songun Revolution." The talk was published in Rodong Sinmun, organ of the Workers' Party of Korea, and Joson Inmingun, organ of the Korean People's Army, on the Day of Songun which falls on August 25, Juche 102 (2013).

Xinhua News of China, ITAR-TASS of Russia, the Russian paper Patriot, Kyodo News of Japan, the Iranian paper Iran News, the paper of Democratic Congo L'Avenir, C. Equis 36 Radio Centenario of Uruguay and other media and internet websites of various countries reported or posted the full text or gist of the historic talk of Kim Jong Un.

Joint statements were made public by the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Peruvian National Independent Movement for Free Voting's Union and the Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, and statements by the honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union, the chairman of the Central Council of the People Unity-"Kyrgyz EL" Republican Political Party of Kyrgyzstan, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar, the president of the Socialist Party of Benin and the chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea.

Colorful political and cultural events such as meetings, seminars, photo exhibitions and film shows took place in many countries to significantly celebrate the Day of Songun. They included the meetings to explain the talk of Kim Jong Un and reading sessions in the presence of officials of governments, political parties, organizations and institutions and international and regional bodies and many other people from all walks of life.

Celebrations of the 53rd Day of Songun in different parts of the world showed that Kim Jong Il was a peerlessly illustrious commander of Songun to be looked up to by all people for all ages as he demonstrated to the world the dignity and might of the country by dint of Songun.
