Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- Korean book, photo and fine art exhibitions took place in foreign countries from Sept. 3 to 16 to mark the 65th anniversary of the DPRK. They were held in Kaluga Region of Russia, Minsk City of Belarus, Vilcea County of Romania, Djakarta City of Indonesia, Sao Paulo State of Brazil and Mexico City of Mexico. A vice mayor of Obninsk City in Kaluga Region of Russia said President Kim Il Sung built a genuine people's country on the land of Korea 65 years ago and developed it into a prosperous socialist power. Leader Kim Jong Il held high the banner of Songun to meet all the challenges by the imperialist allied forces to stifle the DPRK and fortified the country, he said, and went on: The DPRK has kept to the path of socialism under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un and achieved great successes in building a thriving nation despite the disturbances by the hostile forces. The Russians are happy to witness the successes. A secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus wished the Koreans keeping to socialism united close around Kim Jong Un victory and prosperity. A vice-chancellor of Jakarta National University said the Indonesia-DPRK relations are long-standing and very close as they were provided by President Sukarno and President Kim Il Sung. The international secretary of the Brazilian Communist Party praised Kim Il Sung as the founder of socialist Korea, adding: He defeated the Japanese imperialists and founded the DPRK on Sept. 9, 1948. The DPRK has turned into a socialist country--independent, self-supporting and self-defensive--and now displays its might. |
