Brisk Preparation for 11th National Korean Dress Exhibition
Pyongyang, September 25 (KCNA) -- Preparations for the 11th National Korean Dress Exhibition are progressing apace in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

In this regard, KCNA had an interview with Sim Jun Chan, a section chief of the Garment Institute under the Ministry of Food and Consumer Goods Industries.

Question: What is the theme of the forthcoming exhibition?

Answer: The 11th National Korean Dress Exhibition will take place at the Central Youth Hall on October 2-4.

Its theme is "Korean-style dress associated with patriotism". In other word, the exhibition aims at upgrading the traditional dress and seasonal costumes in Korean style to meet the national characteristics and the aesthetic sense of the times and widely disseminating them among the people.

Anyone is allowed to attend the exhibition, including teachers, researchers, creators, technicians, skilled workers, students and housewives who major in garment making.

The upcoming exhibition will focus on diversifying and modernizing clothing, and there will be a training course on garment designing and processing and a dissemination of books and multimedia on clothing technology during the exhibition.

Diplomas, silk banners and cups will be awarded to successful units and individuals.

Q: Would you tell me about ongoing preparations for the exhibition?

A: The Garment Institute is scrupulously working its preparations.

District tailor's shops in the capital city of Pyongyang have striven to present quality garments with diverse styles, colors and patterns.

The researchers of the Institute have concentrated efforts on the work to diversify color combination and vivify formation of patterns for the traditional Korean dress. Meanwhile the Institute planned to disseminate the technique for designing and processing men's clothes.
