Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet regime is escalating the crackdown upon the Unified Progressive Party of south Korea under the pretext of investigating what it calls the case of the attempted rebellion. The south Korean Intelligence Service (IS) searched the house and office of An So Hui, member of the Phaju City Assembly from the party, on Sept. 24. It took such action on the charge of the violation of the "Security Law", claiming that she attended a secret meeting convened by Ri Sok Gi, lawmaker from the party, praising the north and expressing sympathy with it, and she possessed "enemy-benefiting literature." It stormed into her house and took away her laptop, etc. as part of its search operation against members of the party on Aug. 28. The prosecution referred to the court Hong Sun Sok, vice-chairman of the Kyonggi Provincial Committee of the party, and two others on charges of the attempted rebellion and violation of the "Security Law" concerning "praise and encouragement" on Sept. 25. The next day it prosecuted lawmaker Ri Sok Gi at the Suwon District Court. Such actions of the IS and the prosecution are escalating. |
