The speakers at the press conference accused the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office of announcing results of the intermediary investigation into the so-called case of rebellion attempted by the Unified Progressive Party and indicting a lawmaker from the party on the charge of violating the "Security Law."

But the prosecution's report failed to produce any objective convincing evidence, they said, adding this glaringly proved that the case was fabricated by the present regime to tide over the crisis and turn the situation favorable to it.

They held that those forces bringing the charge of the baseless plotted rebellion against the opposition party and infringing upon the freedom of speech and press, conscience and thoughts are violators of democracy.

They demanded the prosecution and the Intelligence Service immediately stop the suppression of the opposition party.

They declared that civic and public organizations would struggle to put an end to the dictatorial rule of the present regime in solidarity.
