Russian Contest of Secondary School Students of Pyongyang Held
Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- A Russian contest of students of secondary schools of Pyongyang was held at the Russian Center of Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies from Monday to Thursday on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and the Russian Federation.

It brought together at least 30 excellent students selected from secondary schools No. 1 and foreign languages schools in Pyongyang.

The contest was divided into history, geography, customs, culture and common sense about Korea and Russia and composition on various themes, oratories, hearing, etc.

The participants fully represented the noble personalities of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu, advantages of the Korean-style socialist system and history and culture of Russia and their hope and future, fully showcasing their linguistic ability.

A closing ceremony took place at the Russian embassy here on Thursday.

Standings were announced and diplomas were awarded to the schools and students who proved successful at the contest.

Then followed a reception given by Alexandr Timonin, Russian ambassador to the DPRK.
